Year Three: Immersed in Creativity
My third year was like a journey into a world of exciting adventures and projects that really mattered. This was the time when I got to explore and solve important problems in a big way.
During my internship, one of the best parts was working with the ESB on a project to make people more aware of demand response. Basically, we wanted to show people how they can use less energy when there is high demand. To do this, we had to do research and talk to people to get their opinions. We came up with some really cool ideas to get the public to understand why saving energy is so important. One idea was a game that teaches kids about using energy responsibly.
This project taught me a lot about solving real-life problems and the value of working together as a team. It was great to see how our ideas could make a difference in the real world.
My internship with AIB's UX/UI design team was also a really good experience. I got to use design principles in a practical way by working on different parts of AIB's digital system. For example, I helped with international payments and their Design System Manager. It was interesting to see how design works in the real world and how complex it can be.
I also got to interview users, which helped me design solutions that actually met their needs. These experiences really helped me improve my skills in tackling tough challenges, understanding what users want, and making things easy for them to use.
Overall, my internship and my third year of studies were a great combination. I got to learn a lot in the classroom and then apply that knowledge to solve real problems. It was a bridge between theory and real-life innovation.
