During my time in college, I designed an app called Connect Me to address a common problem students face—finding their classes and lecture halls. The app also included features allowing students to input their timetables and track their assignments, helping them stay organized and on top of their coursework. This project marked my first foray into UX and UI design, and I found the challenge incredibly rewarding. Conducting research and designing the screens were particularly enjoyable aspects of the process. While the initial designs of the screens were minimalist and perhaps a bit plain, they served as essential building blocks in my journey to creating functional and user-friendly interfaces.
After completing an internship at AIB, where I gained valuable experience in app design and user research, I revisited Connect Me to update its design and functionality. Drawing on the skills I developed at AIB, I transformed the app into a more modern and visually appealing tool for students. The redesign focused on enhancing the user interface with a more vibrant and intuitive layout, making the app not only more functional but also more enticing for users. This experience allowed me to apply professional-level design principles to a project that was close to my heart, significantly improving its usability and overall user experience.
